A spoty situation

phibia5 Mar 20, 2004 09:17 PM

Okay here's how it goes. I was giving my veiled chameleon's cage a good cleaning, so i let my veiled rest on my shoulder. When i was finsihed, he was crawling all over my hand. I finally put him back and when i looked at my hand, I had red spots all over and they are really itchy. I think it was because of my veileds claws digging into my skin, but I am still alittle curious if i should be aware of anything. Also, I wanted to talk about my veileds coloration, it seems that he displays more lighter colors when I handle him versus when he is in his cage, what exactly is that all about? Is it suggesting that he prefers being out of his encloser?
Any advice on my spotty hands or my veileds coloration really helps
Thanx

I don't know anything about the spots on your hands, maybe an allergic reaction or something but about the coloration he probably gets brighter when you handle him because he gets a little excited and his color gets brighter. (not because he likes being out of his cage).

your right, the spots are just from his nails, i have sugar glider and their tiny nails leave spots on my hand when i hold them. just be careful and wash after handling.
