Ohio Greys and Greens

daymiller Mar 20, 2004 09:29 PM

Hi, I have a large tank with 3 locally caught grey tree frogs, and a small tank with a locally caught green tree frog. They are all doing well - I have had one of the greys almost three years. I know all of the admonitions about not mixing species -but I am tempted to put the green in with the greys - aren't they closely related? Tree frog experts, give me a sign!

Hi, I live in north-central Ohio, slightly East. The gray ones I am sure about; the green one is smaller and green so I just guessed about him. Actually, I didn't know there were treefrogs in Ohio either until I found the first one. I am now starting to wonder if the green one is just a color variation on the gray treefrog...

Thank you so very much for that link! I have had raised a tadpole up to a frog for 7 months now and could never figure out what kind of frog he was.. but I found it on that page! =) By the way.. I think maybe you do have 2 Grey Tree Frogs, just the colors are different. Or maybe it's the Green Frog, but Green Tree Frogs arn't found here. Do you have a picture?
