Just educated a new beardie owner

grafitti12 Mar 20, 2004 10:08 PM

Tonight at work(PetsMart), this lady came in and wanted some backing for her terrarium. In her hand she had a beardie book so I asked her if she has one. She said yes, she just got a baby. I told her about how much they should eat, definitely surprised. Then, I asked her about UV light, didn't have one. She didn't dust her crickets. She thought the baby would get calcium from the CALCISAND! So she left the store with a UV light, calcium supplement, carpet and was more informed and educated. I even gave her the link to Veronica's site and this forum. I feel proud that I was able to help someone before their beardie was going to suffer from lack of proper care.

I was in a petshop today with a potential new beardie owner. So I suggested a book that I own, and told her to research research research. I also gave her the URL to this forum incase she had questions. But it was cool, cuz she was willing to learn all she could BEFORE she gets the little guy. I thought it was cool...It always makes me feel better to know someone is researching BEFORE they get a pet..
