we have taken apart the living room/dining area which is the big room his tank is in. Have had the cricket trap out for most of the day. basically, i am just doing a spring cleaning looking in every nook and crany to see if he could be there. my greatest fear is that he somehow made it to the office....ie- the junk room-which has so many places to hide i could be in there for a month!
by the way...how long can a baby go without food and water and be ok? i am so scared to find him in a place that he got hurt, someplace that he got squished, etc.

But maybe try putting up a spot light with heat somewhere like in the middle of the room where he can see it. Maybe he will be attracted to the heat/light at night. Maybe try putting a plate of greens on the floor near it to?
I don't know about hatchlings.. i've never had one of those escape.. but we have had a few dragons get out of their holding pins that were older and they only made it a few feet before getting too cold and their metabolish slows down to much and they just hole up and goto bed.
Dunno if that would help at all.. but it's all i got. good luck!

One of my 4-days old baby dragon escaped once and I found him after 4 hours in the fold of a curtain! High above the floor! So make sure you look *everywhere*. Start in one end and search through the room inch by inch - in every place. Even places you don't expect!

so, i couldn't just give up that he made it very far from his cage...and in checking the corners for a hunredth time...he was up in the corner, couldn't see it by looking under things but actually perched no the baseboarding of the wall. Thank you all so much for your ideas that have helped me find my little guy. A mommy's heart can rest now.
I am just putting him to bed for the night and will give him some food and water in the morning.

I was looking at my place trying to decide where mine would hide if they got out. It is a mind boggeling puzzle. But my main worry would be the dog. well I bet that is the last time yours will get out.
yes, last time he gets out if i have anything to do with it! thankfully we don't have a dog yet to have the problem of-look mom, a new play toy that even runs away from me!

I have a terrible tendency to let my dragons loose in my apartment -- and they often 'hide' in unpredicable places ...
I always find myself frantic looking for them!!!
They're very good hide-and-go-seekers, as they'll fall asleep, and never move!!
