Think this is big enough for some turtles??? (PIC)

lol I suppose it is... I built this pond to house my female Red Eared slider we saved from a pet shop turtle death bowl about 4 years or so ago. I have moved her tank size up accordingly as she got larger but always wanted a pond she could really cruise in and now shes in heaven. The pond is 8ft X 6ft X 2ft deep and was realitively cheap to build. This pic is a bit older as we have a lot of places for her and her new pond mate an albino male to get out and hide in tons of vegetation. Its on a porch so it gets some full exposure to the sun in one nice space all day but the rest is always shaded well enough for the albino. They dine on a ton of grass shrimps and tetras with some nice goldfish too just for looks as well as some commercial diets. I'll take a new pic or two this weekend to post!

Oh duh I shoulda probably looked at this post before asking to see more pictures about your set up, and how many turtles you actually own lol

But thats cool, I think your set up is big enough. I mean 8 feet by 6 feet for 2 turtles, if thats not big enough then what can a person do? lol.

Can you give more info on your set up too? I'm interested in making a pond as well (but I might be moving, after I do then I'll consider making one). How do you regulate the water temperature or do you just let mother nature handle everything. Hm I have a buncha other questions but most could be answered by pictures heh.. (so please post more pics if you have time). Oh and I used to have lots of frogs visit my pond at my previous place.. are your turtles snacking on any frogs?

Here you can see a good shot of the vegetations growing in the pond. I wouldl love to spread a gravel river rock type substrate on the bottom but we are moving soon s the pond goes too and I want it to be as less work as possible. It will probably take me the better part of a day to break it down and move it and reconstruct it.

When my map turtles get bigger I want to do something like that for them. It's really stunning. Good job on it. Oh, good luck moving it!
