Im currently feeding my 4 month old panther house flies and crickets. I see him catch flies from time to time and by the end of the day there are always less. I know he is eating them and some crickets. I have had some issues getting the crickets to him withouth them falling out of the canopy and to the bottom of the cage. He tends to like the crickets that are about 3/8 of an inch long and passes up the smaller ones. How many crickets/flies should he eat a day. I currently have him in a cage that is 24/24/16. Is this cage to large for him to hunt in? I have two hibiscus and one pothos ivy in the cage. I replaced the ficus that I had in the cage because it seemed the upper branches were a bit to thick and he would not climb them.

at 4 months old let the little boy eat as many as he wants. he probably wont exceed a dosen or so crickets a day. If your letting the crickets free roam you might want to try not feeding him for 2 days then placing the crickets in a medium size tuperware container and attaching it somewhere in the plants. Experiment with the container placement and size and color if he does not accept it right away.
I have some chams that like large bowls, some like clear bowls, some like white bowls, and one brat that wont eat crickets out of a dish. I think its the best way to feed because you can monitor what and how much he's eating. I also let a few go in the cages so they can hunt them down..but those are just for fun.
