What do mites look like?

mellordies Mar 21, 2004 12:08 AM

I recently read a post and the question, "Were they plant mites or reptile mites" was asked, I get these tiny little white bugs that swarm in the wet spots on the glass yet never seem th be on the lizard, any thoughts?

Those are plant mites, I always had them until I got rid of my bark substrate and switched to indoor/outdoor carpeting. They don't hurt anything but they are disgusting to look at. Plant mites are usually white and very small, and are never on your lizard.

Thanks for the good news, that was what I was hoping to hear. I found them in my kingworm food also, still sound like plant mites? They weren't bothering the worms either. Thanks for your help.
