Solomon Island Ground Boa, more commonly referred to by its species name: Candoia. They are found on the Solomon Islands and rarely get much bigger than a corn snake. They have great dispositions and are extremely variable, they come in red, brown, various shades of silver, white, etc. Not much is known about them except what Jerry Conway has written. They are just about the most difficult snake to get started on pinkie mice but IF you are lucky, they are simply the most gorgeous of any snake species I've ever come across. I saw a baby once with a bright white background color that stood out from 100 ft away at a herp show. (the whiter ones are typically from one specific island called Santa Isabel?). Check out the Candoia forum for more details. There is also a nice Yahoo group of Candoia fanatics that are trying to get more people interested in them since most breeders don't bother given the difficulty with feeding babies.
