I just ordered a temp gun to use for my tank and my BP. I know what the temps of the tank should be but what about the snake? When I point it at the snake, what is a healthy temperature that I would hope to come up with. Thanks.

It will change seasonally, it will change weekly, and it will change daily. Ball Pythons (and ALL reptiles) use temperatures to acheive many many things. Therefore, to acheive these many things, they must get to many many different temperatures. Its why the thermal gradient is so important, because no way in heck do we know enough about them to tell them what temperature to be at any given time.
So to answer your question, well there is no answer. But a proper range to be within is 78F to 92F. If your snake is out of that range, problems could occur. But then again, it couldn't get to that range unless your tank was out of that range, in which case, its fixable.
