Has she eaten yet? The rule of thumb is that you shouldn't start handling your new BP on a regular basis until they've eaten for you. If she has then I'd say once every other day would be good. I've heard varying opinions on that but that's what I've been doing and it hasn't seem to be a problem. And I'd wait at least a day or two after she eats to give her time to digest her food. Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling as well. Hope that helps.

Always give at least 1 week to settle in before feeding or handling. But I agree not to really handle until it's feed for you. Then start with mini-sessions of maybe just 5 minutes a day and work up from there based on your snakes behaviour. I hold mine almost everyday (except while in shed and for at least 2 days after feeding).

Hey guys,
My girlfriend has a ball python and she takes it around with her a lot. Like if she goes to the pet store she will bring it with her. I was wondering if this will cause too much stress for the snake. It is eating fine and everything, but it just doesnt seem like a good idea to take it around all the time.
Thanks,
Chris

hmmm. I would guess it wouldn't be good as it would prevent them from being able to regulate their own temps properly and that she is exposing her snake to other environments that may not be good and lead to illness.

That's an interesting question. If you don't get many responses, I'd suggest posting this question as a new topic so that it will appear at the top of the forum and get more answers.

I'd be interested to hear what others say.
