They live off of the egg sac for the first several days. Just make sure you mist them frequently and they will start eating in a few days.

Congratulations! How long was the incubation? and how many hatched? Mine have eaten food right after hatching. I agree however that they do have egg yolk to sustain them for a week or too, so you shouldn't be overly concerned.

They took 82-84 days to hatch! long time i know, i was starting to give up hope but un st.patties day the first 3 popped into the world for the first time and the remaining 4 over the next 2 days. So now i have 7 hatchling chinese water dragons and have been doing alot of emailing back and forth with Mike, down at sapphire dragons (very knowledgeable man) he says that 7 is a good number to hatch although there was another egg that grew mold on it that i cut open and had a little baby in, but meh, everyone i talk to says that 7 is pretty good for a 14 year old guy to hatch.

7 is good!, I am suprized at the incubation length. Mine are usually like clock work 61 days exactly. What temperature and incubator did you use?
