Another Opinion Needed - Boy or Girl?

Snakemother Mar 21, 2004 02:32 PM

Now, don't laugh - isn't this a male? I wouldn't be asking, but this dragon was sold to me by an experienced breeder awhile ago as a female juvie. I never thought twice about it, till my daughter insisted I check, since my "female" was displaying very male tendencies. It is a boy, isn't it?
I'm not trying to blame the breeder - I know anyone can be fooled when these guys are young, but just not trusting my own judgement. Thanks for your help!

Look above the vent on the tail side, not on the body side (they all have two bumps there, its fat). In this picture you have the tail twiest and its almost impossible to tell

When you hold the tail straight up and move it left and right slightly, a male will show two bumps on the tail side with an indent in the center, right near the vent. A female shows one smoothe bump in the center

Looks like a girl to me

I agree.. it's really hard to tell with that picture... but from what I see it looks like a female to me as well. You can normally see a "definite" male a lot easier then a "definite" female I think...
