Regurgitating Python.....Help!

Hersheysdad Mar 21, 2004 02:49 PM

1.5 year old Burm. This is the same one that has been fighting respiratory infection and internal parasites. While she still sneezes occasionally, she’s been eating regularly and gaining copious amounts of weight.

Two weeks ago, I fed her a rabbit, which she promptly regurgitated. I thought, perhaps the rabbit was too big, so fed her a much smaller one a couple of days later, which she kept down.

She just shed, so I fed her a small rabbit yesterday. She seemed to have no trouble with it, and had settled in for the night. When I got up this morning, there was a regurgitated rabbit in her cage. The rabbit is clearly no larger than her girth.

She is going into the vet in about an hour, but I would appreciate any feedback you can give.

Thanks

I would suggest that you deffinitely have your vet to some cultures to determine if there are still any internal parasites and also, whether this is the case or not,.. I have noticed that once a python has regurged that their stomachs are often forever much more sensetive to large meals. Give your girl very small meals about every two weeks for a while until she builds up some strength in her digestion.
