The potato trick!...?

jobi Mar 21, 2004 04:43 PM

Hello aim new to Uromastyx, just obtained 5 red and 5 yellow babies Saharans almost a month ago, I enjoy them very much. I read somewhere on this forum that many fail to acclimate, what a shame.
I who’d like to know if its ok to harden soft leathery greens with a potato? (this is a trick often used in restaurants to give the crunch back to soften lettuce) try it and see! Peel and slice a potato then soak in water with your soft greens ½ hour, the results are amazing (new crunchy greens) aim just wondering if its ok to feed these to my Uromastyx’s.

I've never heard of this before. I can't see any reason why it would be bad. I've got some limp collards in the fridge right now, maybe I'll give it a try...
