From South Mountain Reptiles. Hope you don't mind , Don.
Het means Heterozygous:
If you purchase a snake that is heterozygous (hetero.) for a particular trait, the snake you receive will not look like the recessive trait with the higher price. For example, an amelanistic corn is shades of red with red eyes, but a hetero. for amelanistic is only carrying the hidden gene for producing amelanistic corns. The hetero. in this case will look somewhat like a normal corn with shades of black, brown and tan with dark eyes. When the hetero. amelanistic is bred to another hetero. amelanistic with the same genes or with the homozygous amelanistic, you will get some amelanistics from that breeding. In the case of breeding the same heteros. you will get approximately 25% amelanistics. If you breed the hetero. with an amelanistic, you will get approximately 50% amelanistics.
Hypo means Hypomelanistic:
These corns have almost no black pigment. The only black on most individuals is restricted to their bellies and sometimes hard to see.
Motley:
These animals have a recessive trait that causes a mostly patternless underside. The dorsal markings are somewhat connected with lines forming on parts off the back.
Thanks for the help, I've been trying to figure it out for awhile now.
