When is it a cause for concern???? Please need advice

mngrivera Mar 21, 2004 05:54 PM

Jess has always been a finicky eater. I would place her greens and pellets in her cage and she has never ran down to munch right away. She eats only when she thinks no one is watching. Well though she is not an agressive eater she has always eaten this way along with silkworms and a once in a while superworm. Those I have always hand fed easily. I just switched to T-Rex vgf and since then I don't think she's been eating enough. She goes gets a bite and leaves after 1 bite. Also I have to keep playing with her worms to her to make her eat them. Now thats a big switch! They are also dusted with T-Rex ICB. She loves her silkworms and she hasn't touched them. I managed to get her to eat 3 superworms yesterday and 2 today. She is basking well and has a lot of energy. She keeps on wanting to get out and once out she want to run all over the couch. Is it just the switch of vitamin? The only difference in poop is that the color has changed from dark to light but it doesn't smell bad and its not watery. Please any advice is welcomed. She is 10.5 inches and about 50 grams.

Well, the way to tell if it the supplement switch or just a coincidence, is to stop using them and go back to your old routine. If her appetite picks up, it could mean she does not have a taste for one or a few of the ingredients in the t-rex products.
good luck

Well the super worms are a treat not their usual staple of greens, rep cal pellets, and silkworms. I gave the supers a chance since she wasn't interested in the silkworms right now. I'm not going to give them their T-rex vgf or icb and see if thats the problem. Goldberg is a big greens and pellet eater and he does still eat some of his salad but does tend to leave alot more there than before. Almost all of his pellets are done the hatch though
