hi everyone, it's been a long time since i've been on here...just busy busy busy.

i need to ship a 6-7 year old male BCI whose 7.5 ft long and just over 40 lbs. can you walk me through your shipping procedure? let me know what you do to keep them as safe as possible.

is there a higher shipping cost for such a heavy package? if so, how much? thanx all.

40 lbs at 7.4 ft? Man that sounds a bit overweight to me. Hell my male at 6.5 ft is probably 12 lbs maybe more... (Haven't had him to the vet for his annual checkup yet this year. Last year he was 10 lbs spot on)

The procedure is the same as for any snake but on a larger scale. Large insulated box, large sack, lots of newspaper for packing (I prefer shredded newspaper) and some heat packs. Cost will depend upon the carrier, although I would definitely go same day airport to airport via Delta or US Airways for larger animals, as opposed to next day door to door via Airborne/DHL, Fed-ex, etc. This will certainly cost you more but the handling of the animal will be better/safer and there will be fewer raised eyebrows at the drop off point.
