Is 85% humidity to high

I don't think 85% is too high, no. But you may want to allow it to fluctuate from time to time, or day to day. What I mean is that perhaps it might not be a good thing if it is steadily 85% for an extended period of time. I once allowed my snake rooms to reach the upper 90 percentiles and I suddenly had mold spores growing on cage ceilings and walls, so a little fluctuation may be just what is needed to promote a healthy balance and retard spore growth, which in my opinion can be bad and can lead to infectious bacteria.
