Are there exact temp settings or do you have to play with it for a while??? Approximately how long would it take to figure out a temperature???

not that easy. you do have to fiddle with it for a while...it's like, if it's cool you turn the temp up a little bit or if it's too warm to turn it down a little bit and then go check it later...but i have had no problem what-so-ever getting it to the temp i want it at pretty quickly and very stress free.

There are two models available...one with still air and the other with air circulation. Is there much of an advantage to a air circulation fan???

i don't know which is better, or what would be the pros and cons of air circulation. i can't remember if it was this forum or the bearded dragon forum where i read in one post that the fans were bad, but i don't know why. maybe they dry out the vermiculite or perlite too quickly.

i have the one with no fan, and it seems to work just fine. cheaper too.

I do not care for them very much. I have used them and still have one. If you do not keep the temps in the room where doing the incubating it move around quite a bit. I just made a new incubator after seeing the reptile mag from april. I took some 11" flexwatt with a thermostat and set it up in a igloo cooler. Bought 2 shelves from target that are for plates and I have a incubator that will hold temps very well. It took me one day to zero it in and it has not moved since. For about $100 I can not incubate 400-500 eggs at a time where with the hovabator I could only do 80.
Good luck,
