I was just curious if I was missing something in the way my female is looking but see looks really plump like several of those pictures and she did turn on her side like that one pic a few weeks ago. She shed about 2 weeks ago. Just a nervous new "DAD" here and I guess I was looking for some confidence. Those pics helped allot! Thank you!
Just keep the acge at normal optimal temperatures, make sure you don't bug her too much, and check every day after 20 days from the last shed!
Best of luck! Keep us all updated! I'm pumped for ya man!

One of the things I look for is when you let them relax on a flat surface if the widest point is in the last third rather than the middle third. I'm not sure if this would work with older fatter females but with my young marginal ones it's a good indication that laying is imminent (assuming we are talking about a female who hasn’t eaten in a month or more here).
Hey Randy...the thing about this ball is I don't know if she was breed before or not. When I got her last summer, she came in as a trade from a guy that had her for 7 years apparently. My guess is she was wild caught years ago, but who knows. The guy I bought her from for $100 sells every herp you can imagine through internet sales (he posts on the classifieds sometimes). So, she could be an older snake that was breed before in the wild or was imported gravid or...you get the point. She just looks really plump from about half way down. Should be less than two weeks for eggs so we shall see how many she lays. Hopefully they are not slugs lol.
Watch for her getting plump 2/3 of the way down when she hasn't eaten for a long time. Most balls are plump in the middle but if they are plump in the last 1/3 then they are full of something and if you have had her long enough to be sure it's not food it is probably eggs.
Actually, she was bred by a 66% possible het for axanthic that I bought from Ralph Davis (you actually know my name from RDR lol). So, I know she has eggs but...new question! Would a female turn up her belly towards the top of the container, while she is tightly coiled (as if she is ovulating) afer she has already had her pre-lay shed?? Not a quiz..an honest question....Mine female is doing that.
Sorry, I haven't watched enough gravid females close enough to answer that. I actually miss seeing most of the ovulations and even sometimes get eggs from females I've never seen breed. I just watch for the last third thing when I clean cages to know when to get ready for eggs.
