trouble feeding IJCP

nlanna Jun 12, 2003 12:39 AM

anyone here ever have a problem feeding the carpets? my IJ seems to have gotten extremely picky lately. the only thing i have been able to get her to eat anymore is live mice. and thats only 1 mouse every other week just about. she used to be able to down 3-4 of them every week and now she seems intimidated by them and backs off once the mouse see's her. i just tried feeding a f/t, she started to put her mouth around its head then backed off and wont go near it now. its starting to get frustrating. i had the same problem with my jungles when i first got them, but then got them on chicks and they never had a problem eating again. only prob with that is my ij is too small to eat them now. any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance,
Nick

Maybe a rat pup might spark some new interest in feeding.and sometimes I swear some carpets just don't want to eat when you want them to.Also if shes in a shed cycle they lose their appetite till they shed.good luck.

i have tried feeding everything but chicks, she is still too small for them. i have also tried putting her in a feeding box overnite. no luck. she will eat live mice occasionally, not like she used to though. she acts healthy and looks fine. i dont think anything is wrong with here but a possibility i guess.
