How many clutches in a year?

Snarks Mar 21, 2004 09:43 PM

Just curious, they lay 2 eggs at a time but how many over a year or one mating? do females refuse to breed, if they chose to or could they potentially breed themselves to death?

thanks

book with a chart?
mine is 4 years old.
Can you tell me the title/author of the book that would have a chart, please and thank you

...has a chart on page 72.

Year-eggs
1-0
2-8
3-12
4-16
5-14
6-10
7-10
8-8
9...

And so on. If your girl is 4 now she's in her prime and her production will decline from here.

The Leopard Gecko Manual is available all over, in PetCos, PetSmarts, etc. it's marked $8.95. If you can't find it and need to order it, the isbn is 1-882770-62-5.

I also have another book, a hard cover called, "The Leopard Gecko; an owners guide to a happy healthy pet" by Lyle Puente. It's a little more expensive, marked $12.95 but it isn't as good. It has it's strong points but I find that the Leopard Gecko Manual has more indispensable information in it...like that chart! LOL!

It depends on size, weight and health. It varies to females to other. You would min breed after 55g and I seen a drastic improvement in 55g or higher range producing 4 clutches. When they are 3 year old, they are able to produce a lot of clutches than any age. I will scan the chart out of my book. It is in Leopard Gecko Manual Book.

Will they just breed once and he'll leave her alone? once a year? When Barry White tunes are a busting? :P

I want them to live together but i might just end up building something for the both of them so they can live seperately.

It depends on male aessive persoilty toward females. He will do it agian but female can reject him if she want to. Male will wait. Some breeder do that let them breed at their pace when they lives togther.
