What exactly defines a long term captive? Six months? One year? Two years? Five years?

I also think the important thing about an LTC is to realize that it was in the wild at one point eating wild food and perhaps breeding in the wild so you need to worry more about parasites and diseases than even with captive hatched (i.e. hatched in captivity in Africa).
LTC distinguishes an animal that was imported and treated, say three years ago or so, from a newly imported WC. But, as with so many other things in the herp trade, the claim is only as good as the person making it.
