Small Unactive Dragon

leofreak Mar 22, 2004 11:26 AM

My beardie is pretty small and unactive compared to my friends beardie who is my beardies brother. My beardie eats 20-25 small superworms that are about| |that long.He poops on a regular basis and its not watery and his urates are normal white. But he has been the same weight since I got him about 2 or 3 months ago.Whats wrong and I also had him take parazap this month but his eating did improve.

definetly want ot give him small CRICKETS and some salad etc. superworms/mealworms are not very nutritious as a staple and can harm a young beardie like yours. Get him on crickets powdered with calcium/d3 and make sure you have a UVB flourescent light on him. What is your substrate, temps, cage size etc?

yes you can use silkies...how old is he? if he is under 10 inches,i would put him into a smaller cage. It will be easier for him to eat and make it not as stressfull. If he is under 7 inches, defintly put him in a smaller cage until he gets a little older and larger.

You are raising that baby on a diet of candy & ice cream if it was a human give it veggies and crickets or silkies dusted with calcium and vitamins. also he might not want that as like most children he likes candy & ice cream
