I might get a PTS

mike3 Mar 22, 2004 12:18 PM

Hi i have a uromastyx which i think has almost the same diet as a PTS so a large variety of dark greens is nothing new to me. I have been on the internet for days and i am not finding the informating i need. Can some1 give me links to a really good PTS website. Also, I was thinking about have 2 or three PTS 1 male and 1 or two females. Would this work, how big of an enclousure would i need. Is 4hX3lX3w large enough or do i need to get bigger? Also, how much are they, i was looking all over the internet and only found 1 person who was selling them 1 for 250 or a sexed pair for 500. Is this a good deal, where can i find a reputable breeder and not get ripped off. I want to buy properly priced cb adults, or wc that have been treated for parasites. So can i house 3 PTS together, how large of a cage, where can i find a reputable breeder or some1 who can give me healthy animals that are properly priced. Also, can i see pics of your PTS cages so i can see how i should furnish it. i was thinking about getting a hibiscus tree and letting it grow in the cage so they can snack on the leaves and floweres and have places to climb. Also, this isn't very important but, are they easy to breed if you have a 1.2? Thank you very much.

0.1 ornata (Chubs)
0.1 Pit Bull/German Shephard/Lab/ect. mix (Kodak) - looks like an over grown toco bell dog.

LEEWAY CORUCIA RESEARCH CENTER (LCRC)

HI,

TRHere are many posts (On enclosure pictures etc.)in this forum and through use of one of the search engines that will answer most of your questions,

I will comment on a couple. Being an arboreal species (STLI=.17), Height is the most important component. 6 Feet high is ideal. Many times, you will find a one on one pairing is preferred although a male may form a Circulus with a pair of females. Feeding is just like Uros. NO! Uro's occasionally take crickets Corucia should never be given any insect matter. Also, Uros are from a VERY HOT AND DRY Environment. i.e. daytime conditions of 110 degrees and 13% humidity. Ths would quickly kill a Monkey Tail.

Current Price on Corucia: Going rate is indeed $250 a piece.
Caveat Emptor on sight unseen purchases. Also, One should avoid Gravid female ads of $350 or more. Is the dealer going to Guarantee the female is gravid?-I don't think so. Will he/she refund the difference if she doesn't prove gravid? - They probably were laughing all the way to the bank.

I have to go Hope this helps and DO the research in this forum. Alot of Good people spent much time and effort with good advice and information. Make their work have meaning by going back and looking at it. I you still have questions, come back and we will gladly fill in the blanks for you.

Sincerely,
Brian
