Indian Star needs help

cbreeze Mar 22, 2004 01:10 PM

Hello,

I have a female Indian Star Tortiose approx. 11" and 10 years old. She is showing all the classic signs of a respritory infection, cough and a her nose runs from time to time. She is eating well and there are no bowel issues. My "pen" is inside where one end is about 95F the other in the 70's and water is always available.

I tried adding more heat but she then moves away from it. Should I press the issue with the heat by placing her in a smaller container? Are there any antiboitics out there that will not kill off her intestinal flora? Other suggestions? Local vets not much help.

Thanks in advance, Cbreeze

I think it would be wise to look for a qualified reptile veterinarian. You can go to the ARAV website and look for one by state (www.arav.com).

I hope that this helps.

Best wishes,
