drsgstopher Mar 22, 2004 05:09 PM

I have a Sinoloan milk snake and i got it over the summer and was very freindly then and up untill the last few months it has not let me handle it. It eats regularly and is healthy but i cant even pick it up to clean its tank. It thrashes violently and somtimes even hits things in its tank trying to hide. ive tryed going in very slow but its so fast. I want to be able to handle it because thats why i love snakes, but it just simply wont let me. Any Help Would be Greatly Welcomed!!

Its not uncommon for young siniloans to spass out when you try and hold them.He/she will likely calm down once it matures more.Just keep trying.

I'll tell you what worked for me...sneak up on it while it's asleep, preferably in the "cool side" hide. Pop it out from under it's rock and cup it in the palm of your hand before it can even untie itself. Cup your other hand over top and let it wake up being held.

Thank You for the advice, both you and the other reply... I actually just tryed that method except the cupping with both hands because shes a little big if not completely coiled. I did sucessfully handle her for about 25 miniutes and will keep this method up untill everything is back to normal

There is a picture of her, if anyone can also help me be sure its a Sinolan or if its a Nelsons or what??
