keeping up humidity.......needed at petstore.....please help

dagangsta Mar 22, 2004 07:29 PM

ok so herres the deal, the specialty manager at the petsmart that i werk at decided to put all of the frogs (gold's, white's, and an albino pac man frog) in one of the wall units (for fish) with about 2 inches deep of water, no heat whatsoever and it gets pretty cold, and all on gravel, (its given 2 of the 3 white's major problems with their lips) but the reason he likes it is b/c it keeps the humidity really high, i asked him again about moving the frogs back into a normal tank and he told me that if i found a way to keep the humidity up above 80% consistently then he will move them back so yea, if anyone can give me a good solution it would be greatly appreciated

If all you have to work with is an aquarium, that would be tough without cutting a lid out of plexiglass or something and then putting venilation holes in it. You could actually do this with like 10$ and a drill, but I don't know if you'd be allowed. Covering screen lids with saran wrap works to a point but it won't hold 80% for any decent length of time.
Also, your manager has no idea how to care for frogs. Even if they do need constant 80% humidity (which I'm pretty sure at least some of them don't) having them all together is MUCH worse for them. Bleah on the manager.
