I've got some info on them on the odatriad, and themonitorspot.com. Black trees can be excellent captives, once they are acclimated to captivity. Acclimating them can be quite difficult, for they have a high mortality rate. My male becarri is one of the tamest tree monitors you'll ever see. Both him and my male emerald tree will crawl out onto my arm to feed.

Moisture/Humidity is an important element to their husbandry, for they tend to dehydrate quickly in captivity. Make sure you never let the humidity to drop below 65%. I have automatic misting systems set up on all my tree monitors. In fact, I have just increased the rainfall in my becarri enclosure today, and they almost immediately started copulating.

I hope this helps, and like I said, I have more info and pics on The Odatriad. Take care,

bob
