Weatherd Used DriftWood?!?

i just aquired a piece of driftwood thats been in the elements for i dont know how long seeing as how i absconded with it from a front yard, i kno i kno im badd man. but umm yeah is it ok to keep in a tank ? if i let it sit in bleached water over nite?

a 10% bleach solution should be fine, just wash it until you can't smell the bleach anymore afterwords.

Wood is a porous material. Soaking it in bleach will allow it to absorb the bleach, making it impossible to rinse out. It's better to cook wood at about 250 degrees in the oven for about an hour, checking on it to make sure it doesn't singe.

I did some investigating into this, I didn't want to tell you one thing and find out I'm wrong. So, this is what I came up with.....You can still use it. Although the wood will absorb the bleach, leaving it air dry will allow the bleach to dissipate. You should thoroughly rinse it, to get any off the surface, then let it air dry till any smell of bleach is gone.
