Just wondering how much everyone gets who sells there extra mice to the pet stores.
I used to get $0.60 cash from one petstore, but then some new breeder moved in on my biz, offered them up at $0.45, and now that is the best I can get for cash. Another petstore takes them for $0.50 store credit, and I usually take my rats and mice there. They take the rats at varying prices, I am not sure the exact scale (when I gotta get rid of the rats, I gotta get rid of them)... but they pay me $2.50 for a large rat. Once sent 18 rats of various sizes, and 50 mice in to the store, and got $50 store credit.

It really depends on the supply and demand in your area. The petstores here won't buy mice or rats from private sellers but I found a breeder/petstore supply store that will buy mice/rats and their price is based on demand, so it fluctuates. Haven't sold any mice to them yet as I have been able to sell them directly to snake owners in my area. The rat weanies were $2 a piece so far but the owner did say it can fluctate as low as $1.50 to as high as $2.50, depending on how many she needs any giving week or month.
Checking your yellow pages for petstore supplers or wholesalers may find a similar place. Or, asking at the petstores where they get their stock and how much they are willing to pay, may be the best bet. Another way of going about it is finding how much they sell mice to the public and offer about to one third of that value. (ie if they sell the mice for $2 as a pet or frozen as food, offer to sell yours for $.75 to $1.00)
The price really fluctuates with store to store. You'll have to just ask the feed and pet stores. LdyPayne sums it up pretty good though. Depending on how many mice/rats a certain individual buys from me may affect the prices also, but I never charge what a feed or pet store would. Since I pretty much sell only to herp owners directly, I tend to give people more of break than I should.
Yeah I know if really changes from pet store to pet store. I was just mainly curious what people got. I have a place that could use about 100 a week and I am in the process of working out a price with them. I used to raise rats so the prices are alot different for mice. Trying to see if it would be worth it to raise mice since there is the demand for them.
i get .55 for pinkies and .65 for feeders i've been the lone supplier of pinkies to our only pet store for the past year and i'm not sure if it's worth the bother
