Tokay biting stick.....again

antonm Mar 23, 2004 12:44 AM

Ok when I first got my tokay and he was young, I put in a piece of wood that I freshly baked to sanitize into his cage. He immediatelly proceeded to bite the twig and the main part of the brach for a good 20 minutes. He stopped after a while, and now I have put a new big log into his big cage and once again the biting commensed. He literally attacked the wood with a passion like no other. In both cases the wood was wet and put off a scent. Has anyone else experienced this wood hate in their geckos?

Never had that happen, or at least that I've seen. I would guess he's marking his territory or feeling threatened by something new to his territory. Did have one hatchling that like to pump weight with a barbell though :0)
