My Kingsnake - Meanie

roboticboredom Mar 23, 2004 02:31 AM

Yeh his name is Meanie cause he bites me alot. Always has too... once you get him out he's okay. He is two yrs old... so i think being an albino maybe has bad vision and get spooked easy. But he's really cool - i think. Figured i'd post a picture.

'Meanie' hehe. Pretty snake though

3/4 albino cal kings that I have owned in the past and currently own have been absolute terrors. The 2 I have now, both banded males, one about 8yrs old the other 2yrs are called 'Lestat' and 'BiteyWhitey', lol. 'Lucy', a striped albino who died a few yaers ago and who happened to be Lestat's auntie was the nastiest, bitiest, [bleep]iest cal king I have EVER seen/owned, OMG she was bad!

I really do think it's the albinism, and certainly the eyesight that makes them worse than other cal kings, but why drastically so? Does anyone have a scientific answer for this? Or am I just basing my experiences soley on coincidence?

On the other hand, the 1 out of the 4 albino cal kings I have owned who was not nasty was 'Genevieve', a banded albino female, mother to Lestat and sister to super [bleep] Lucy, and by far one of the sweetest and mild mannered snakes I have ever been around. Weird.
