Pine?, Bull?, or Gopher? Could someone give an on-forum class?

I'd really love to know how they are distinguished from each other by looking at them. I know some are relatively easy but some of the gophers look alot like some of the bulls but smaller. Any input welcome.

Hi there:

If you are on the pacific coast, odds are you have found a gopher snake. Gopher snakes are very yellow in color, slightly smaller than bull snakes, and more slender as well. Of the three, this species is the type less likely to bite. In the Midwest, you would find a bull snake. They are a large, thick-bodied species that are whiter than the gopher snakes in coloration. Most are speckled and have different looking eyes. Finally, on the east coast you would find a pine snake. their color varies, as well as their pattern, but these are most likely white, back or gray. They are also the more arboreal of the three. i hope this helps- I own a Sonoran gopher snake myself.
