beriss Mar 23, 2004 06:54 AM

I have throne away every culture that gets it and i store them in different places and the white mold seems to get in my new cultures, but have yet to get in my org one's. It has some kinda of mold inhibtor already in the media as well. If any one had a problem with white mold and figured out how they got rid of i would love to hear it please.

hate to this, but you might just have to throw those cultures away. And buy a whole new set of fresh, non-contaminated FF from somewhere.

I found out it was from my cultures not being wet enough and drying out and left for a day they would start to produce white mold but after keeping the media in a good amount of water there was no mold and maggots began mixing it up better so solved the problem there.

If you can find it you could try Parahydroxybenzoic Acid. You might have a very hard time finding it though. It is supposed to stop the fungus growth.
