New Q/Idea

Priest Mar 23, 2004 02:09 PM

Ok, I had one reply to my Question, which was: would it work if I turn 36L-18W-15T on it's end, and use the black, wire/bar lid, would crix get out. The reply said the crix would get out (which, after looking at it, I can see that they clearly would). If I used a mesh (like a screen for your window, not the bars) for a lid, would the tank still function ok, even if it is on his side?

Thanks

Joe

I wouldn't think it would be a problem as long as humidity is ok. If you are worried about crix getting out, you could try putting them in some kind of container the rhac can get into but the crix get out. I use one of those small acrylic critter keepers. I tape up the sides so he can't see through and jump into the acrylic! I forgot the tape at first and he kept bashing the sides trying to get the crix. I like how this stops the crix from hiding in the substrate also.

I would use aluminum screen, as crickets can chew through fibreglass or vinyl screen.
