A question about sexing....

kephy Mar 23, 2004 06:50 PM

Ok, I can't remember what they're called.. but in addition to the bulges you look for at the base of the tail, there are also those pores along the thighs. My question is, do males and females both have these pores, or is it just the males?

I ask because up until now I haven't really known for sure what sex my baby is, but I've been guessing it's a male. Today I noticed that I can finally see those pores along the thighs. Does this mean I was right, it's a boy?

Yes, correct me if I'm wrong, but the enlarged pores (Clearly visible) are a male trait.

Both male and female dragons will have pores along the underside of their legs/thighs. Typically males are said to have larger pores and more obvious, but this is not always the case.

Tail thickness, pore size, vent thickness, and "bulges" are all ways of trying to sex them. None are perfect and there are no guarantees.

A good way to back up your guess is through social interaction with multiple dragons.. but again this is not always perfect.
