Growth of clutchmates and other egg questions...

lostkauze Mar 23, 2004 07:12 PM

Ok, well I got these 2 baby albinos about a month and a half ago. At first Baby 1 was bigger, and weighed more, now Baby 2 is much bigger and fatter. They are housed seperately. Do the growth rates differ greatly between clutchmates like this?

Also, does coloring stay the same? Baby 1 is getting an orange head, baby 2 and orange tail. Set aside all rules of breeding, and line traits etc... If I bred a stipe male to a tang. female, is it possible to get one egg stripe, one egg tang.? Or would it be a mix of both... like the 2 would have the same visible trait het for the other trait?

Just got a bit curious tonight, and though I'd ask.

Michael

Every geckos has differnt growth speed like humans. I won't worry long as they are eatinf well and in their housing. It is normal for cluthemate to look differnt like my male double het are cluthe mate to Blazing Blizzard or Hypo Tangerine/carrottail.

Also, Tangerine and carrottail aren't ressicive and they are selective for more Tangerine intnsese and more carrottail and they are co Domiant and Geckos genes don't work like Ball Pthyon.

Well, ya of course there are the selective breeeding, I was just putting the situation in a no factor zone. Ss it is possible to get two different outward appearances from clutchmates?(ie. reverse stripe and a normal perhaps)

Sorry for re-iterating, just wasn't sure if it was clear.

Well anything are possbile. Jungle and stripe are ressivce but jungle are domiant over stripe. If your Tang is het for Stripe you might will make some Stripe.

I don't think you understand where I'm headed. Forget completly about traits and how recessive they are. Just completely erase it. There are no factors, nothing.

If magically I got a historyless tang male, and poof, there was a sjungle female, would it be possible for me to get one egg as a jungle baby het tang, and one tang baby het jungle. Remember there is no such thing as traits. It is a completely hypothetical situation.

there are no such as het for Tangerine

I realize that.. hence the hypothetical situation. I'll repost my question once I can figure out how to make it the way I want it. Again, if anyone wants to jump in, without laws of traits and stuff, would it be possible for clutchmates to have different outward appearances? Not like the amount of spots, more so like jungle and high yellow.
