Indoor Pond

The pond is not finished yet. We are going to enclose it with old barn wood and rock on top of the plywood. Then the cords will not be running all over either. This summer I am going to get some plants to put in there. I was hoping Edna & Eva would come up, but they are camera shy.

You did a really good job on the frame. Can't wait to see what it looks like all done.

If your photo is a webpage like in your case, you should put it in the box that says LINK URL. To put in the image URL you would have to put the actual location of the file, which for the photo below is: http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/data/56669MVC-001F.JPG

Also, what keeps your turtles from climbing out and falling off the side? or is that what your gonna do with the barn wood. Also im curious to see how you mount your UVB lights. Or maybe one of those incandescents is dual purpose.

Thank you I have trouble with those pictures. Right now the water is not high enough for them to get out, When we put the barn wood on we are going to make it so that they can't get out of the area, but can get out and walk around if they want. I haven't actually decided about that though, I think that when they pea and poop it will get into the wood and stink. I have a coil UVB bulb in one of the desk lamps I have setting there. When it is all done the lamps will be on the other side of the pond, I think, unless I change my mind again. Edna & Eva love to swim, they chase the goldfish, then the goldfish turn around and chase them, it's just funny. Hopefully they are just playing. They never hurt each other, yet!

I really like the set up. Did you get the pond from Lowe's? Is the waterfall built in? Did you get the pump with it? Any worries about the support of the tub since you do not have hard ground all around to support? I realize you have lots of support but the sides will still bulge against the air from the weight. I have never looked into what they are made of and if they have the strength to support all the weight or what percentage the earth is relied upon.

The frame has to support the pond, otherwise the sides of the pond will just fall over. I got the pond at a local gardening store and the pump and filter I got online, it was less than half as much online. The waterfall is a seperate piece that I added. I added the link of the filters and pumps. The filter I used is the bioforce 250 with the tital 550 pump.
