GECKOS UNLIMITED Mar 23, 2004 08:36 PM

This is a plea for help!! I just received a call from Scott @ TLC and have been informed that his ENTIRE collection has been ripped off. Please keep an eye out for people selling high end geckos. I will report details as soon as possible.

These punks even killed his dog!!! If you have any information, please call Nathan @ 713-775-5545

Scott has informed me that the punks left a few geckos. They stole about $25K of geckos, and they also stole tons of stuff in the house as well.

This is eerily similar to what happened a few weeks ago to Jeff Houston with his Ball Pythons. Someone broke in while he wasn't home and stole all his high end BPs. I forget what they were worth together - something like $30,000 I believe. Makes you wonder if there isn't some connection. I had just gotten a nice pair of pictus from Scott about a month or so ago. Like you said, everyone needs to keep their eyes peeled at shows, etc, for suspiciously high-end stuff (especially if it's being sold at lower than normal prices). I know that Scott won't get the kind of publicity that Jeff Houston got because geckos and lizards aren't BPs and they aren't, in general, worth the amount per animal that BPs are. It would be great if someone could coordinate a reward for the animals, like the BP community did - they got together $50,000 in no time. Ah... God this is such a shame...

All these break ins over the past year is out of control. I was just taking to Scott via email about getting some amyae from him this year. Knobtail geckos in general are rare and I will keep my eye out. I think this has finally pushed me in so getting an alarm system for my home, and that is sad to say when I live 100 yards from a police station. I can't believe these punks killed his dog. Screw taking them to jail, I think we have a few animals that can take care of these punks!!!! Scott we will all be on the look-out for you.

Man.. Thats horrible! Hopefully the dog was able to get in some nasty bites! I know my dog would!

Which brings me to the "maybe"

Maybe someone could suggest to the police calling all the hospitals and Dr's offices in their town and surrounding towns/cities and ask if they have had to treat anyone for any type of dog bite?

GL to them and I hope they catch this animal killer/stealer and they get alot of prison time.

i think scott should have an investigation done.. Its not like they killed a human but they did kill a dog and get away with $25,000 worth of stuff so it is well worth it. Its not just like he had a few geckos stolen. Id tell the police to watch out for people coming in with dog bites as the other person said and anything that you can think of that may catch them, It had to be an inside job

I agree.

this is grand larceny!

and I dont know what animal cruelty laws are in TX but a crime of this nature-killing and grand larceny, should not be taken lightly by the law inforcement or anyone for that matter.
