i'm sad to say that it was suggested that in a few days if there is no improvement in my baby turtle(he's getting worse real fast) that i should consider euthanasia(sp?). =( i don't know if i can afford this and i dont want to, i feel really bad that i couldn't help the little guy. =( it's funny that this guy is SO sick cuz his buddy is amazingly healthy... i don't understand. =,(

Is this the little guy who the vet told you had an eye infection? Did he/she give any antibiotics? Didn't you say it was making squeaking noises? Did the vet even mention a possible respiratory infection?

My sister had a hatchling that she considered renaming lazarus because she was positive it was dead when she went to bed and planned to bury it in the morning...only it was in a different place when she woke up, not dead after all! She took it to the vet, got an antibiotic injection, and now it is a big fat healthy turtle.

I don't want to give you false hope. Not all hatchlings make it, I just want to make sure you've been given good advice. Not all vets are reptile vets. Good luck!
