Sorry, I have to gripe real quick.

SO, my boyfriend bought me an engagement ring!!! He has been flaunting it ALL day since I got home from school, but he refuses to actually propose &/or give me the ring until my birthday (April 21)!

AND, on top of THAT, we were at Taco Cabana (taco place). The guy comes out of the bathroom, gets down on one knee in front of me, takes out the ring box and starts saying "I love you.." yada yada yada. Then he says, "Will you..." [Opens the Box] "Take this Quarter?"

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He'd put a quarter in the box!

He knows how much I want him to propose, so he's Teasing me! UGGHHGHGHGH!!!

Guys on this board: Just a hint - DO NOT DO THAT! This is NOT a smart thing to do!!!

Anyhoo.. That's my gripe. UGH!

Sometimes.... He could have at least just kept it in his pocket and not mentioned it, rather than waving it around & showing it off & teasing me with it... Granted, I knew he had it, since I went with him to pick it out, but teasing me?!??? UGH Men are frustrating sometimes (or always?).

This is a place for leopard gecko or just overall all geckos.I seee how u grape by telling people u dont know about your boyfriend.I just feel people on this forum are taking it too far.I seen a few of these kinda posts.But i think its time to say something now.It's just taking up space in here.

People are just looking for a place to vent...I don't think anyone else sees it as a problem. Everyone on here is basically friends now, and I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to tell each other things. It's not like OT posts are taking over the forum...there's usually only about 1 or 2 a week.

He is taking this joke too far and it is hurting your feelings. I know men sometimes do things just to get a rise out of us but don't know when they are actually hurting us...even though, WE think it is obvious, men don't. You know how they are about catching clues, or noticing when we dye our hair? Well, recognizing feelings in women is just as tricky if not worse for them. You should nicely and directly tell him how you feel, how this makes you feel. I'm sure, since wants to marry you, that he doesn't mean to be so heartless.

But, ya know, some men DO catch on. I was talking on the phone with one of the guys he works with... And I told him what John did. He's all, "Did you tell him you're not a slot machine??"

And later, I was talking to the same guy again, and he told me that he told John he'd better watch out he's [messing] with his future! (to which John replied, "but it's funny!"

*cocks an eyebrow* OH brother....

But at least he bought the ring... right? lol

How often does it happen "inside" a relationship?? It's easy for some guys to see that a buddy is screwing up but if they're doing doing the screwing up, they're usually too close to realize it. LOL!

At least he has a sense of humor. Probably doesn't want to give you the ring until your birthday because after spending a lot of money on the ring, he doesn't want to buy you a birthday present! Have some patience. You'll get the ring......
