Could a crock be housed for life in a Vision cage ( the large 700.00-800.00 model) or is this to small?

80" wide --- 28" deep --- 44" high is the cage dimensions of that.

Which can house it for awhile but not forever. You would at the very least want it higher and deeper. But over all it should simply be alot larger then that.

What size would you suggest? Not minimum but realistic

I wouldn't suggest a vision. I'd suggest building the biggest cage you can offer. Something in the range of larger then the length of the monitor would be nice.

That had that HUGE Nile "skirtch" in that nice, big, circular, oudoor enclosure? Im sure Im getting the details all mixed up. but I remember the structure. Shoot, I had it as my pc wallpaper forever! Anyways, thats the size I would like to see Crocky in for sure.

First, you need to realize what your keeping. ITs a active lizard that gets ten feet long. While ten feet long is important, the term "active lizard" is far more important.

Lizards have legs and know how to use them. Active means they use them a lot.

Wouldn't you think is only proper to keep any lizard in a cage thats many times its lenght. You know, so if it walks, it can do so for more then one second before it hits a wall.

Please do not get mad at me, I think I am only bringing up the obvious for your consideration.

I kept and bred Croc monitors, I kept them in cages that had a ten by ten by eight feet tall outdoor part and eight high by four deep and eight long, indoor part. I considered that too small. Actually they considered that too small.

If your question was, could you keep one in a tiny box and have it live for a while, then the answer is, yes its possible. But please ask yourself why? Is there a value in doing so?

Of course there are ways to make it work, maybe. Like having a large outdoor enclosure for the summer and allowing the monitor to go walkabout in the house during the winter. All thats up to the keeper.

But to keep a giant active lizard in a small box, hmmmmmmmm no, I don't think so. FR
