sleeping problem?

kephy Mar 24, 2004 12:00 AM

My 3 month old baby has started sleeping propped up in the corner of his cage on his hind legs. So I'll go in and gently lay him down on his belly, and he'll crawl back up! So it's obviously something he prefers, but I'm worried it could hurt his back and tail. So far tonight I've already righted him twice and now he's back upright again. Should I be worried? Any suggestions?

It's a perfectly normal baby beardie sleeping position. Let him rest.

So is it something he might grow out of?

I just remember someone on the uromastix forum saying that standing up against the glass was really bad for their spines and pelvic areas. I thought it might apply to beardies too so I want to be sure.

(BTW he hardly wakes up when I lay him down, he's soooooo sleepy. He just groggily crawls back up and closes his eyes. I love this guy)

One of my dragons has been doing that lately too. Apparently one day she was soooooooo tired from a long day of basking she fell asleep on her face.
