THE STORK came to my house Monday morning !!! WOO HOO !!!

LindaH Mar 24, 2004 10:30 AM

I woke up Monday to find these little wiggly worms! Ms Muir had 28 babes (22 Ghosts and 6 Anerys). There was also one fairly good sized slug and two really little ones.

I know that some people put tubs in their enclosures for the moms to give birth in. This year I thought I would try it, but I couldn't find one *I* liked Everything I had looked too flimsy. So, last week while I was outside feeding the horses, I noticed their feeding tubs. They are wider on the bottom with wide rounded rims on the top.....perfect for a boa mom to perch on....I thought. They look sort of like huge dog bowls - the kind that are hard to turn over. I brought the nicest one inside and cleaned it up.

Ms Muir was actually due on the 14th and finally started her cruising Sat evening, doing laps around her enclosure. She continued this off and on, and I figured she would have them Sunday night, so I put the tub in with her. It is almost as wide as her enclosure, leaving just enough room for her to crawl behind it. She had been frantically cruising - searching, and pressing her nose in every corner. When I put the tub in her enclosure, she came over to it and totally STOPPED CRUISING....instead spending the rest of the evening inspecting it inside and out. It was quite interesting watching her. She seemed fascinated by this horse feeding tub!!! I never saw her cruise one time after that! I finally went to bed around 1 am, leaving her still tongue flicking all over this thing.

When I woke up, I found ALL the babies inside this tub and she was leaning over it, resting her neck on the rim, looking at the babies and looking at me. I should have taken a pic, but I was so surprised I forgot. It was pretty cute. I guess she liked it just fine, so I suppose I will steal it from the horses again next litter

There are so many different looks in this litter. I can hardly wait until they shed this dull baby skin!!! The Anerys are cool looking too. I'll get some pics of them after they shed. Even though they are really dull right now, I'm seeing a lot of black/white contrast.

BABIES RULE !!!! WOO HOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those look awesome. I may definately have to ad one to my collection this year. You are making it hard for us to keep up with mortgage payments when you produce amazing boas like that. You were blessed.
