Overweight Turtle

bassturtle Mar 24, 2004 03:26 PM

I left my three RES with my mother while I was away at college. I recently went back to visit and noticed that one is heavily overweight. His shell is starting to develope bumps, and the back by the tail is splitting. If I put him on a diet will his shell heal itself? Or is this a permanent damage?

It may get less noticeable with time, but the damage is permanent. The shell will always be split at the bottom.
