Egg problems... actions questioned...

lostkauze Mar 24, 2004 03:38 PM

Ok, Well my girl richard (long story) laid eggs for I think the 4th time ever. She's always made quite a mess, but always laid in the moist box. I get home from school today, and see 2 eggs laid on the slate tile. She obviously moves some bedding to an area no more then 3 inches from the humid hide, and decided to laid the eggs right on that, The eggs were attached to the slate, but I got them off. My concern is this: The eggs were not 100% firm, nor egg shaped. They have several large dents in them, and it looks all folded up. I candeled them, and they are definately fertile.

Maybe she or another gecko stepped on it, I dont know, but how do I fix this? She's gotten me quite stressed, and I'm very flustered. (It's midterm week). So yeah, with the eggs... suggestions?

Michael

Also, she acknowledges the presence of the hide, I found her in it, and shes back in now. I am just so confused.

Sometimes they just do that. I have never found any layed outside the eggbox in time. They had gotton too cold, deflated or hard.
You should still try to incubate them, you might get lucky.

Ya. I'm incubating them. Awesome pictures in that post above. Is there anything I can to to re-inflate the eggs?

They may reinflate themselves, with the proper conditions of the incubator. Make sure the humidity level is around 85%.
I've had a few that had little dents in the top that popped out with a little more humidity. Good luck & thanks.

I wanted to know the proper humidity level. I was looking at thermometers that show the temp and humidity and was thinking of getting one just for my incubator. My female laid on the tiles as well....but they didn't stick. I was able to pick them up without any trouble...but i'm still confused as to why she laid there when she had and dug in her lay box.
