UV light certainly won't hurt your boa, but it won't provide much benefit either.
Being nocturnal, boas in the wild probably don't get much direct sunlight, if any.
If your cage is in a room with windows, light from the windows will provide enough of a photoperiod for your boa. If the cage is in a basement or other room with no natural lighting, then a standard uv light on a timer will help create a photoperiod.
In short, it's more about photoperiod, or light cycle, than anything. Whatever you choose, be sure you use a timer for something like a 12 hours on / 12 hours off schedule. 24-hour lighting will interupt your boa's natural cycle.
Good luck.
