Can someone give me a guide to shop for climacaphora by?

meretseger Mar 24, 2004 08:16 PM

I'm looking for a climacaphora that's going to be a real nice blue one (don't care if I have to grow it from a hatchling) but a lot of the adults I see are a khaki/tan color. Does anyone know who breeds some nice blue ones or what visual cues (if any) I can look for?

Ronda at nwherps.com has some beautiful breeders but she doesn't have any available just now. I bought a spectacular hatchling at Daytona last year from Prairieland Herps. I don't have a contact for them right now. Terry, do you know how to reach them?

First of all, I appreciate the exceptionally quick response the reference was very informative.

Anyway, it seems that the Kunasir island ones are the blue ones I desire, but does anyone breed those guys with the albinos? I optimally want a het...uh...aodaisho and a shirohebi (assuming I got the names right, it's just fun to say).

Tom has some in the classifieds right now and the het breeder has great color. David's link is http://www.ophidiophile.com/.

Mark and Kim Bell produce a few albino climacs each year that are made available. Tom Harrison has hets available now according to his ad. David Tracer should have some hets this year. Rick Cunningham might be breeding his albino climac this year to one of his nice light colored normals. Ronda has some very nice climacs, but I haven't heard of her working with any albinos as yet. I would suggest looking into Tom Harrison's to get the het right now. I think the hets he has available are both females. Get your name down for a male this coming season if you can.

Mark gave you some good names to go with. I'm just seconding them. Good luck.
