Best way to hold a baby

jchance Jun 12, 2003 11:20 AM

What is the best way to handle a baby dragon? I have been holding my son's daily, but it is starting to get aggressive. Yesterday it bit me, and then jumped out of my hand. Luckily we apprehended it, and I held it a little longer so it didn't think that was appropriate. I have never flinched with it. It was actually comical when it bit me. Its so small, I don't know what it thought it could do. Anyway, I'm just wondering what is the best way to get it to calm down more. Since it is so small, not overly so, just cause its a baby, it is still very quick. I would hate for it to escape.

how much of a baby is it? really small ones you should keep handling to a minimum, at least i think so, they are rather fragile and can get stressed out. The best way to hold them is supporting all 4 legs and hold them close to your body gently with both hands just in case they do decide to jump. If the baby is calm i always liked sitting on the floor with mine and letting them climb around on me in a secure area just in case they make a break for it =) Its fairly easy to get hurt jumping from above your waist so sitting while holding your dragon is a good idea if hes a bit squirmish.
